BAT – Sociolinguistics Journal

The main aim of the BAT Sociolinguistics Journal is to provide information on sociolinguistics and language policy for agents involved in the work to revive and normalise the Basque language. For this purpose it gathers together the significant contributions not only from the Basque Country but also from abroad (from Europe in particular). As many fields of sociolinguistics are interdisciplinary, the journal strives particularly to provide a channel for this diversity, with respect to subjects as well as authors. So on its pages one will find deep reflections by a professor of Jurilinguistics or a modest exposé by an agent who has carried out an initiative aimed at normalisation. Since the journal was launched, it has been publishing an average of four issues per year.
